We stopped by the famous Winchester Mystery House while in San Jose. Mrs. Winchester went a bit overboard when she consulted a psychic back in late 1800’s after her husband and son died. The psychic told her that her family was cursed from all the deaths in the Civil War that were caused by the Winchester Rifle.
She was told she’d have to move west, buy a property and never stop building. So she did, and she employed about 3 dozen workers who worked 24/7 shifts for 38 years straight! There was a staircase that led to the ceiling, windows that opened to brick walls, and so many odd elements to the giant Victorian House.
